About

about ambreen

My work sits at the intersection of organizations, sustainability, and politically complex environments. I am a postdoctoral fellow at the Erb Institute for Global Sustainable Enterprise, a joint program of the Ross School of Business and the School for Environment and Sustainability at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

I bring nearly two decades of experience working with conflict resolution and environmental organizations to my academic work, which informs my interest in how organizations operate across deep social and political divides. This professional background has shaped my approach to research on cross-sector collaboration, institutional complexity, and organizing under constraint.

My academic training is interdisciplinary. I hold a BA in Ancient Mediterranean Civilizations and Policy Studies from Rice University, an MA in Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies, and an MA and PhD in Sociology from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
